Japan 生活: Bandotaro blows up Twitter

Last night, a Japanese television show called Himitsu no Kenmin Show aired a special piece about a chain restaurant in the Ibaraki Prefecture called ばんどう太郎 Bandotaro.

Bandotaro's most famous dish is their take on the 味噌煮込みうどん (miso nikomi udon), a variety of udon soup that combines udon noodles cooked in red miso, kamaboko (fish cake), vegetables, chicken, and a raw egg (to be stirred in by the eater).

After the show aired, Twitter exploded with posts talking about the delicious food offered at Bandotaro.

The Bandotaro website was unreachable due to such a large flow of traffic for a few hours after the show aired. On their website, they have a large size interactive menu available showcasing everything they have to offer.

What do you think of the food available at Bandotaro? What would you like to try? Does the food look worth the hype? (I think so!)
